Week Ending 10/02/04

We decided to take a break from the snakes and head out towards Plantersville and Magnolia for the opening weekend of the Texas Renaissance Festival. Although this is more up Kim's alley, I always have fun one way or another. I am happy to say, I have not been thrown out of any establishments since 1995. (Don't ask!)

Fun was had by our entire group which included Bruce, Meridith, Paul Goodman, Me, Kim, Caleb and Weston. We got there late because it never seems to fail…the ever present lane closings of Houston! One day we will be able to drive up there without having to detour or see an orange barrel.

We arrived at the fair grounds at 11:40, and got in just in time to see the King's Parade. The weather was mostly cloudy and this was fine with us since it had been fairly hot, although it did rain on the way, but not enough to put a damper on opening weekend. We survived with only minor meltdowns from the kids.

I minted my annual silver coin and Caleb liked watching this activity so much, he had to mint his own coin, but Caleb would mint the brass!!!

We stopped on the way home at Los Cucos which is also a tradition. I have not been thrown out of there as of yet! I am sure we will return one more time this year. Well, at least Kim will!
