Central American Coral Snake

This was an exciting snake to find in the wild. This Coral Snake was collected under a dry piece of fallen palm. I was surprised to see this snake in such a dry area considering most Corals like moist damp areas. This snake feeds willingly on fence lizards as well as green anoles. This is also the only Coral Snake I have ever had that has willingly eaten for me in captivity. This is the smallest species of the three corals in Belize.
