Green Headed Tree Snake 2

 
This highly aboreal snake is chiefly a lizard eater. These snakes can be found resting high and low in trees and are strictly diurnal. This snakes mouth will gape widly when threatened and are also rear-fanged venomous like the Green Vine. This specimen was taken from the trees overhanging the Macal River outside the town of San Ignacio.
