Weekly Update ArchiveWeek Ending 05/30/05 Our family and Meridith headed out to Del Rio Friday evening around 8:00 P.M. We arrived at Motel 6 around 1:30 a.m. As we were unloading, the sky opened up and the monsoons began. No need to try and hunt now, as temps were in the upper sixties and the night was shut down. We just bedded down for the night and waited until tomorrow. We woke the next morning only to find that fellow herper and friend Dave Doherty caught one of the nicest alternas I have ever seen, (next to the one I caught years ago of course J). It was about a three foot female with orange tinge around the thin black bands. Congrats to Dave as his father who accompanied him on this trip. Saturday, our family, Meridith, Dave and pops Doherty, Mr. and the new Mrs. Jay Holcombe, our newest members to the ETHS Romelia and Marcella Matrinez, Tom and Maureen Eisele all went over to Crosby's and had lunch and drinks and socialized. The shopping came afterwards. While the women hit the shops, the guys (and some gals) hit the bar. When hunting time came, we decided to collect Langtry dirt and West of Langrty, then on the way back, swung onto Juno Rd. We also swung by Pandale paved but there was too much traffic on that, so we headed on in. We would catch absolutely nothing. All we saw was one atrox on Langtry dirt. Sunday morning, we
would soon learn that Nathan Wells and a buddy out of the Woodlands caught
a nice Blairs phase on Juno Rd. earlier yesterday evening. It was a Woodlands
kind of weekend! Again, congrats to the Woodlands bunch. Wayne Howell Photos
